I need clarification on what I have already heard. I have heard the Vice-Chairman of the Committee say that NGOs were interfering with the resettlement programme. Can he clarify how they were doing it? As far as I am concerned, it is very important for us not to become over-sensitive about NGOs, particularly when they agitate for fairness. view

More than a month ago, I requested a Statement about the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) loans in Lower Eastern, and the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives promised to bring that report but it has not come. However, what is quite offensive is what has happened after that request; farmers in Kitui County have been seriously followed in respect of loan repayments. We are worried about the disaster preparedness in this country. When I talk about disaster preparedness, I am talking about preparedness that can enable us turn the floods into our advantage.
