  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I hope that Sen. Kinyua is now well informed on that particular issue. I need to advise him not to provoke us any further because we shall reveal more damaging issues. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while other regions have to contend with failing industries, the rest of the country has no industries to talk about. That is the difference that I was talking about. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my colleagues should allow me to speak because most of the points of order that they are raising are frivolous points of debate. If any Senator holds a contrary view, they can be allowed to speak later and explain their point of view to the country. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: When we were debating the basis for the third revenue sharing formula, I said that a list of projects that this administration is currently undertaking should be tabled in the House. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: Each and every citizen of this country is a tax payer. It is only proper and fair that a list of the projects being undertaken should be tabled before us so that we see whether what I am alleging to is true or not. If such evidence is produced before us and it is confirmed that there is proper distribution of resources and development in Kenya, I will issue an apology. However, as things stand, I know the truth and that is why I agree with the Statement by Sen. Wetangula that the Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries must ... view
  • 30 Sep 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. There is an increasing number of Petitions coming to this House lately. This is a testament of belief that Kenyans get that when they present their issues before this House; they are sorted firmly, expeditiously and they get justice most of the time. This should serve as an encouragement to Members who sit in various committees that handle different Petitions. Petitions are an alternative form of dispute resolution that are firm in law, but have a greater force than some of the long unwinding judicial processes that exist in this country. Citizens know that if ... view
  • 30 Sep 2020 in Senate: Githiomi, to take time and canvass this issue. To the best of my knowledge, this is not the first time that we are receiving a petition from the Coastal region with regard to disenfranchisement on land rights and dispossession of property that belongs to them. We, as a House, must sort out an issue with finality. These issues must ceases being bother to citizens who are taxpayers. This House is run by the contribution of taxes that come from the people of that region. The people of Coast deserve to receive an equal share of the good work that this ... view
  • 30 Sep 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I expect that when the Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources is seized of this matter, they will invite the NLC and demand of them to give a status update of all the issues that have been presented before them in the last few months that they have been in office. It has been close to over one year since the new NLC took office. This will be a good time for the Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources to present before this House the framework that the NLC has set up so that we ... view
  • 30 Sep 2020 in Senate: There is a lot of work that is cut out for the Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources. I look forward to reading their report on this Petition and their recommendations. I hope that, at the end of the day, the people of the region that has been mentioned in the petition will go home a happy lot and believe that the Parliament of Kenya exists for the service of ordinary citizens of this Republic like them. view
  • 30 Sep 2020 in Senate: I thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
