Mr. Speaker, Sir, in respect of time, I humbly request that each Senator be restricted to speak for two minutes so that we are within time. There is quite some interest from my colleagues. It is now six minutes past six O’clock. We have 24 minutes. Maybe you could allocate three minutes.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, we are told to be good neighbours. I see my neighbour from a neighbouring county, Sen. Omogeni. I do not know if he would mind if I donate a minute of my three minutes so that he does not fall into trouble with baba. He can still speak.

I do not know if he is willing. He is my good neighbour from Nyamira County. Anyway, there is no indication that he wants to speak. He is observing baba’s censure in the House. The induction seminar that we are supposed to attend is important. I urge my colleagues to attend so that we can jell the experience of the Members that have been there, new ones and people who have unique specific experience that will be beneficial to us, for instance, Sen. (Prof.) Kamar who has consulted for county assemblies. It will be good to know her views about ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to also contribute to the Address made by the President during the Joint Sitting of Parliament. I had earlier on congratulated you, and fellow Senators for being elected and nominated to this House. It will be a great mistake if I forgot to thank the people of Kericho County because without their votes, I would not be here. I thank them for re- electing me to this House for a second term. It is a great honor and I look forward to serving them with great distinction and dedication and ...

Thank you, Mr. Clerk, for giving me this chance. I felt the need to speak on this issue because I happen to have served in the last Session of the Senate in the Committee on Finance, Commerce and Budget that looked into this matter. We heard submissions from the governor as well as from the petitioners. When I saw the trail of thinking that was set before us, I felt the need to speak so that my colleagues Senators that are here today, whose minds may get clouded by the kind of innuendos being created about a certain candidate, may ...
