Member for Lamu East does confirm my assertion on this Floor that there are many genuine reasons that have made it difficult for the Kenyan farmer to service his loans. Therefore, as the House considers this plea to provide these funds to AFC, to provide relief to these farmers, that should be at the back of our minds that the Kenyan farmer is genuinely burdened to an extent where he or she is finding it difficult to service these loans. I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the Chair and, perhaps, the Deputy Leader of Government Business that I have been expecting a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Foreign Affairs on the killing of three Kenyans on Gulu Island in April this year. A commitment had been made for giving that Ministerial Statement a couple of weeks ago. If I should get an indication as to when the Ministerial Statement will be issued; I will appreciate. view
