Many Kenyans in 23 counties do not have food to eat. This has been the precedent in this country in the past Governments and even today. Therefore, priority should be changed. There is enough water. Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, Tana River and Turkana mostly depend on subsurface water. Tana River is a big river that flows 24/7 through Garissa and Tana River counties. Gallons of water flow into the ocean every second. That water can be tapped and diverted for food production. • 6 Oct 2022 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, countries like Egypt do not get any rainfall even for five to six years consecutively. Egypt depends on River Nile. Waters of that river flow from Lake Victoria; some if it is used along the way and the rest goes to the oceans. That is where we need to tap water for production of food for this country. We must alleviate this kind of water shortage and famine, which makes our people to lack food. That is a misplaced priority. view

It is quite unfortunate that he has clients across the country. As a senior Senator, I request the senior Senator to withdraw that statement. view

I can confirm and affirm to this House that the United Democratic Movement (UDM) is officially in Kenya Kwanza Coalition. I am a member of that coalition and we do not fear or owe favours to anybody. Azimio-One Kenya Coalition Party has failed to retain its own members. Therefore, Kenya Kwanza has moved on. view
