But given that she has the powers to order the District Education Officer (DEO) of Kiambu to post teachers, as we wait, could they be put on the payroll and posted to other schools?

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to reply. First, I would like to thank all my colleagues who have stood here in support of the Motion, including the Government responder who has shown that the Government has identified and accepted that the issues of drug abuse have reached such a level that serious action needs to be taken. The problem of drug use and abuse in this country cuts across all social classes, religions and races. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the laws to govern drug use and drug abuse exist but the problem is enforcement. Further, the activities of those agencies involved in the control of drugs are so haphazard that should there be any international information on a drug haul heading to Kenya, there is no one single institution that can receive that information. asked the Minister of State for Immigration and Registration of Persons:- (a) how many suspected members of the Islamic Courts Union were deported from Kenya to Somalia in January, 2007; (b) how many of those deported were Kenyan citizens; and, (c) why the suspects were taken to Somalia instead of being charged in a court of law in Kenya.
