“(g) conviction of an offence and sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of a fine”. The amendment seeks to clarify circumstances under which a person may vacate office; that is if he contravenes the Public Officer Ethics Act and any other relevant law. Upon conviction of an offence, the person is sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine.
