  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Let me raise my point of order. Is it in order for the hon. Prime Minister to refuse to answer my question when he knows very well that he has been to my constituency? In fact, I have said--- view
  • 26 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of information, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to inform, through hon. Mbadi to the Chief Whip, the House and the Kenyans that, indeed, through the Parliamentary Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, this House on its own wisdom decided to adopt in totality the report of the Ligale Commission. That remains a fact on the record of this House. It does not change. Any other whims and expressions, do not change that. That fact must be a reality. view
  • 20 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have not seen him since yesterday evening. But, maybe, you can take the other Questions as I try to find out where he is. view
  • 20 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have tried to reach my colleague through his cell phone and text message but so far, I have not heard anything from him. So, we have two options; to defer the Question to tomorrow and try to look for him, or decide otherwise. view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Foreign Affairs regarding the unfolding events in Egypt. I would like the Minister to offer the following clarifications:- The number of Kenyans living in Egypt and confirm whether, indeed any of them has been affected by the crisis there, and if so how many? I want him to tell the nation and Parliament what contingency measures the Government has put in place in order to evacuate the Kenyans who are there in case the situation deteriorates. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you might have ... view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, before I asked for this Statement I consulted the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Onyonka and he assured me that he was going to be ready this morning to give this Statement. Secondly, as of last night, I got calls from more than ten Kenyan student leaders in Egypt. As much as I appreciate the Minister’s position, the information we are asking for is not for our comfort. The Minister needs to appreciate that this is not for the sake of our comfort, it is a reality. Nobody is seeking comfort in seeking that Statement. ... view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate the many ad hoc measures that have been put in place by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As you have heard, some of them were made as late as one hour ago. That issue has been going on for the last one week. Those of us who have been watching the Cable News Network (CNN) and Al Jazeera television news channels know that this is not a small issue. It is something that can affect the whole region. What other contingent measures have you put in place in neighbouring countries where we do ... view
  • 2 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: On a point or order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have heard the Assistant Minister talking about their own wikileaks. Sometimes back, wikileaks was dismissed as a rumour channel that had no basis and right now, it is becoming a source of information for none other than the same Government. Is he in order? view
  • 19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of Order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would like to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Foreign Affairs regarding the attempted forceful entry of supporters of President Laurent Gbagbo to the United Nations Headquarters in Abidjan, where the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya was to hold a mediation meeting. The Minister should assure the country. We know the Prime Minister is one of the principals of the Republic of Kenya. The Minister or the Government should assure the country of the safety of the Prime Minister in view of the unfortunate incident in ... view
  • 19 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Two, what arrangements have been made by the Government to airlift the Prime Minister to safety from this nation that has been gripped by lawlessness, mayhem and anarchy? Three, in the light of the above unfortunate incident what is the next course of action for Kenya’s mediation efforts? view
