  • 14 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, because I can see you are not receptive to what I want to say, I would like to tell members of the Fourth Estate that the intention was not to gag the media but to create a debate. That debate has been created and we are well informed. This is why we unanimously agreed that Clause 27 should be deleted. Therefore, we rest our case there. view

This is what the earlier proposal said:- The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report ... view

Therefore, we felt that anything to do with the Member should go through the usual processes envisaged under the Powers and Privileges Act, and not giving a blank cheque to the Clerk ... view

What we are trying to cure here is a situation where you disagree with the Speaker or the Clerk and they say the hon. Member for Turkana be investigated. That should be left purely at the discretion of those investigation agencies like the DPP or the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and not under ... view
