• 15 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: THAT, the Schedule to the Bill be amended in the proposed amendments to the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, 1999 by inserting the following new amendments in proper numerical order— s.32 Delete the words “National Environmental Department” appearing in the marginal note and substitute therefor the words “Complaints Committee”. s.32 Delete the expression “National Environmental Department (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) and substitute therefor the words “Complaints Committee”. It is the same thing. The amendment seeks to replace the word “Department” with the words “Complaints Committee” because of the investigative nature of the National Environment Management Authority. view

• 15 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: s.33 (2) (a) Delete the word “Department” and substitute therefor the words “Complaints Committee”. s.33 (2) (c) Delete the word “Department” and substitute therefor the words “Complaints Committee”. s.33 (2) (d) Delete the word “Department” and substitute therefor the words “Complaints Committee”. The justification is the same. The amendment is just replacing the word “Department” with the words “Complaints Committee” because of the nature of the National Environment Management Authority as an investigating authority. view

• 15 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: That section removes representation of the Law Society of Kenya in the Copyright Board. The Chair has given good reason for that. The Director General must be a lawyer and a member of the LSK and the Attorney-General’s representative is a lawyer. view
