I rise to contribute to the debate on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on the nominees. I had a chance to peruse through the Report of the Committee and noted their recommendations. However, allow me to highlight a few issues which, in my view, ought to have been considered by the Committee. view

She is married, but she is from Taita Taveta. I participated in their initial vetting in this House. If this House approves the two nominees and the Commission is fully constituted, its composition will not comply with Article 10 of the Constitution.
