  • 14 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: If I have the ‘Chief Justice’, Junet, Mbadi and Baba behind, it is like River Nile. It will never be stopped. Somebody tweeted the other day that Ruto is 75 per cent in State House. The 25 per cent will be done by these guys. We support the Chair. Please, bring more. I support. Thank you. view
  • 14 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing who is the Member for Pokot South, will be tabling his Report tomorrow. Therefore, we can deal with this Bill on Tuesday as we deal with the Division of Revenue Bill tomorrow. I seek your indulgence so that we can defer that Order. view
  • 13 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No.44(2)(a), I rise to give the following Statement on behalf of the House Business Committee (HBC). The Committee met this week at the rise of the House to give priority to business for consideration. Without anticipating debate, I wish to note that the House is scheduled to proceed on a short recess commencing tomorrow, subject to the approval of the Motion. As a result of this, the HBC has not scheduled any business for next week save for one, which is to remind Members that the agenda for next week is ... view

  • 13 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: that we shall proceed on recess from tomorrow Friday, 2nd March and resume on Tuesday, 13th March, 2018, if this House approves this Motion this afternoon. I hope the Members will make use of the seminar. It is in Mombasa, which is very popular with Members of Parliament. This time we will be there for four days. You have enough time to be in Mombasa. There are some of us who are very tired. We want to go and rest and wake up at 10.00 a.m., but not the staff. They have to wake up at 6.30 a.m. The essence ... view
  • 13 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, they need to hear this. I am introducing the Gender Bill and I can see that the people who are disrupting the House are people of the other gender. How do we increase the number when the beneficiaries are the ones disrupting proceedings? We are being magnanimous by introducing that Bill, but they cannot disrupt the proper functioning of Parliament. I wish to inform the Members that the Clerk of the National Assembly has concluded all the logistical arrangements with regard to the seminar and we look forward to it. Members are advised to pick their air tickets ... view
