  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: So, the matter the Leader of the Minority Party has raised is of grave concern. It is a privilege and it is about the Standing Orders. He cannot just come in from his constituency and tell the House that this Motion is not party sponsored. If it is not a party sponsored Motion, who sponsored it? I never sponsored it. It is not an individual Member Motion. view
  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: It is immoral, uncalled for and unparliamentary. It is not based on leadership and integrity. If he was in my coalition, there would have been a Parliamentary Group meeting tomorrow for his removal. This man should be removed. view
  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: This man is like a soldier. The CORD leadership can give us a better leader who can attend the HBC meetings. They can give us a better leader. view
  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: I beg to move and if they do not want the Motion, we do not want it. The House also does not want it. view
  • 4 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: I know Hon. Chris is like me. It is good to understand the amendment. When the AU Heads of State met, they agreed to fund all the activities, whether AMISOM and others, through their budgets. The Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations will ask questions, if a certain amount of money is given to AU operations for example in Somalia and South Sudan. The National Treasury had decided to give part of the monies to fund the amount allocated for Kenya by the AU. In fact, this was not in the original Bill, but it came after the Rwanda meeting ... view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I stand to support this amendment. I agree with the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology that ranking should be done in a more systematic manner than in the past. It is not possible to compare institutions which are not at the same development levels. Some schools lack basic facilities like laboratories and you want to compare them with Alliance and Lenana High Schools. It becomes difficult. view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: I understand from the Mover of the Bill that it intends to separate private and public schools. This is another important way of ranking schools. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology must put in place stringent measures to ensure that private schools do not use the opportunity to be ranked highly because they are business entities. They want their schools to appear as high as possible on the ladder, so that they can attract more children. That encourages them to be corrupt and steal examinations. The Ministry needs to put in a lot of measures to curb that practice. view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: I support the amendment because it is important. view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: seconded. view
