  • 26 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this matter is very serious. If this Parliament is worth that statement, all of us should be involved. These members have been working since 2003 and to date they have not been given their allowances. It is not an issue of whether the Treasury will be asked for this money or not. The Ministry should have been aware that these people have been working. Mr. Assistant Minister, time is up. When will these people get paid? view

  • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the hon. Member in order to discuss a point which is not the content of the Report? view
  • 3 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we do flood irrigation in Mwea. Has the Assistant Minister come up with a plan to detect or identify whether there will be any hyacinth-related problems in all the streams? That is because the water is being used as the main resource by farmers. view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir. This is a very serious matter. It is only that we do not want to mention names here. In Kirinyaga District, there are six policemen who, any time there is a robbery, they are part and parcel of that robbery. In this incident, four of them were caught at night and they were actually together with the civilians who were arrested, and they were released. Could the Assistant Minister arrange for those police officers to be removed from Kirinyaga District and brought to Nairobi, near his office, until the investigations are complete? Thank ... view
  • 21 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I stand to speak on a different issue. When a majority of pensioners go to claim their pension, it takes more than two or three days. Who compensates them for this loss? view
  • 21 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 15 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am actually not the Chairman. The Chairman is hon. Kajembe, who is absent today. He has some problems and he had to fly back to Mombasa. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, first and foremost, I would like to say that it is high time that the Government introduces a Bill which controls the issue of refugees in this country. Secondly, we also have to note that the Government entered into and signed protocols way back in 1967. I do not think whether those protocols were debated exhaustively. Those protocols are the ones ... view
  • 2 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I wish to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Water and Irrigation as concerns what his office is doing in terms of reviving all stalled irrigation projects and what steps his Ministry is taking to make sure that our people do not die any more because of lack of food next year. view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the mood in the House reflects the state of our roads because our roads are very bad. Could the Assistant Minister furnish this House with a list of all the roads which are currently being undertaken and the ones which are to be done in the near future? view
