In the Statement, the Chairperson should state the following:- (1) Whether the Government is aware that there is serious drought, shortage and starvation in Tana River County and, indeed, other parts of the country including Kwale, Kilifi, Taita-Taveta, Kitui, Garissa and Samburu counties. Governors denied us the right to participate in the county development boards. Now they want us to go and celebrate with them. What are we going to celebrate with them? I asked the Government to declare drought which the people of Tana River are facing a national disaster because people there are dying. There is nothing to be celebrated. It is disaster because our people are dying while governors keep on telling us to celebrate. We should not be celebrating but crying. view
