  • 10 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the hon. Member may not be in touch with the District Food Security Team. With regard to this particular Question concerning Murang'a South District, we have already given out 2,000 bags. We did not provide maize only. With the 2,000 bags of maize, we also supplied 300 bags of beans as well. So, to say that we do not give beans or cooking oil view

As for the lady that he is talking about, we are aware that she was initially relocated to Kericho, which is her place of origin. Unfortunately, she was attacked again! So, she came back to the camp and, since we knew that fact, we organized with the District Commissioner and instructed him to pay her and take her back to Kericho. Later, she relocated on her own, and the DC is still looking ... view
  • 28 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not know whether the hon. Member was listening to my answer; I stated very clearly that we are not aware of any IDP existing in that particular camp. As far as the larger Nyamira is concerned, that is a different issue altogether. I came prepared to answer his Question about Ekerenyo IDP Camp, and I have clearly stated that it was closed down on 11th September, 2008. It is important to note that we do not ask some of these things when we do not have facts from the ground. There is only that ... view
