  • 17 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: I think each Member would be allowed 30 minutes to contribute to a Bill and we realized that at times the 30 minutes were not sufficient. If we reduce the time to ten minutes, one will barely say a word before one is told that his or her time is up. Therefore, I would urge that the Leader of Majority Party considers withdrawing this Motion, so that we can give it more thought with a view to rationalizing the time aspect. In the meantime, if there is need to limit the time for each Member speaking, there is nothing that ... view

We have already given the Government, through the Leader of Majority Party, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon to transact business. That is enough favour. So, asking us to limit contribution to Motions by Private Members which are not sponsored by the Leader of the Majority Party and the Leader of Minority Party is demeaning to the Motions produced by hon.
