I want to assure the hon. Member that should we find that anybody, be it a police officer or any other person, was responsible for the death of this citizen, we will definitely take action against him. (a) I am aware that there are people from Trans Nzoia who were displaced during the tribal clashes of 1992, and some of them have not been resettled on their farms to date. (b) I am also aware that those people now live in poverty and that is why the Government has been assisting them with relief food from time to time. Kamati hii imekamilisha kazi yake na wakati huu inatayarisha ripoti tunayotarajia itapewa Serikali. Nina hakika kuwa ripoti hii itaisaidia Serikali ili iweze kuwasaidia wananchi wote wa Kenya walioathiriwa na vita vya kikabila vya mwaka wa 1992. view

(a) Further to the information that I gave last week about this Question, we have carried out further investigations and found out that the mother of the above named child, Ms. Rael Cherobon Chepkwony, escaped from lawful custody, and abandoned the said child at Kabiyet Police Station. She has admitted escaping from lawful police custody, and abandoned her child through, a sworn affidavit. We have a copy of that affidavit.
