Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

  • 9 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to find out whether it is in order for hon. Jakoyo to refer to us – even me who is very awake – as sleeping Jubilee Members, considering that he was photographed in the Nairobi Star taking a nap with sunglasses? Is it fair? view
  • 4 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Speaker, Sir. I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- view
  • 4 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: THAT, this House adopts the Report of the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources on Statements sought pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c) on the Management Wrangles at Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA) laid on the Table of the House today, Thursday, 4th July, 2013. view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I beg to support this Petition. While I am supporting this Petition, I would like to state that one of the promises contained in Jubilee’s Manifesto is to make Kenya a logistical hub. Making Kenya a logistical hub will bring with it more challenges of having vehicles moving at higher speed. So, I would like to request the Petitioner and the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing to broaden this debate on the issue; because of the axle load restrictions more heavy duty vehicles are coming to our roads; they can transport cargo ... view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: As we speak now, the axle load situation is making Kenya uncompetitive and our competitors, especially the port of Dar es Salaam, are taking over all the transportation of goods, especially of oil products for Rwanda and Burundi; we need to have a balancing act when we are considering this Petition. view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Yes, hon. Speaker. view
  • 3 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise on a point of order regarding the Motion that is being moved by the Chairman of the Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. I want a clarification as to whether the Motion covers the entire contents of the Report. I am seeking the clarification because the Motion only talks about the payment to Mr. Mak’Onyango Otieno and the issue of the ICC, whereas this Report includes a recommendation on the recruitment of Commissioners of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). So, the Report he has tabled has more statements than the Motion he is moving. Would it, ... view
  • 2 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. That is the advantage of being well known by the Speaker. view
  • 2 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: I beg to support this appointment, and I want to declare that I have worked extremely closely with the nominee when he was the PA to the Leader of the Official Opposition. I want to state that one of the reasons why qualified Kenyans refuse to take up political appointments, so that they can advise our leaders, is the repercussions of being labeled partisan or not suitable for the position. I am saying this because when I served on the Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs with hon. Odhiambo-Mabona, we worked hard to justify that hon. Members of Parliament who ... view
