Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. While I appreciate that the Prime Minister spent a whole week at the London Olympics, is it in order for him to give us a very lengthy historical speech on a matter that the President has already ordered a probe on? view

  • 21 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was concerned that the list he is reading- -- The other criminal gangs that he might be talking about did not have the opportunity to raise their voices! So, I am concerned that we might be using the Floor of this House to incite the public further. view
  • 15 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is 18 years since the psychotropic and Narcotic Drug Act was established. Article 54 of the Act says that your Ministry should have formed rehabilitation fund that should have been able to set up rehabilitation centres. Since it has taken you 18 years to establish the two rehabilitation centres in Mombasa and Nairobi, how long should we be waiting for you to decentralize these centres in the 47 Counties? view
  • 15 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to keep on saying “unless they have it in the Budget”, when Section 54 of that Act states that they should have established a rehabilitation fund? The issue is: Have they been requesting for that fund to be operationalized? He should not take us round in circles about having funds in their budget. view
  • 15 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Given the fact that the mood of the House is fully in support, would I be in order to ask that the Mover be called upon to respond? view
  • 15 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move that The Statutory Instruments Bill (Bill No.53 of 2011) be read a Second Time. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Select Committee on Delegated Legislation is established under Standing Order No.197 and its mandate is among others to ensure that statutory instruments are laid before the House as may be provided under any written law and scrutinise such instruments to ensure that they are consistent with parent statues. You will note that the Committee on Delegated Legislation is one of the new committees of the House that were established by the ... view
