Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

  • 13 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. My question is with regard to the CEO. I am aware that we do not have a qualified Kenyan to be a coach but a CEO is a mere person with Masters who can negotiate deals. view
  • 13 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, sports tourism is one of the ways in which Kenya is trying to diversify our tourism. The outgoing coach of the Kenya cricket team posted on the website that the reason for his resigning as the coach of the Kenya team was that Kenya is unsafe. Subsequently, other nations have refused to play international games in Kenya. Many sports are recruiting international coaches. I would like to know from the Assistant Minister what measures he is taking to ensure that the contracts signed by these coaches protect our country in terms of them being capable of ... view
  • 12 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to join my colleagues in sending a message of condolence to the families and friends of our departed colleagues. Our two departed colleagues were not only efficient in this House and in their offices, but they were patriotic Kenyans who put the country first and went beyond their political inclinations. Hon. Ojode was a personal friend of mine. I served with him in the Parliamentary Sacco before I resigned my position in the Sacco. I told him that the Sacco was the most efficient because the period between the time a Member would submit ... view

  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Having said that, I would like to thank the Minister for clarifying that these are not new posts and that they are deployments. Those were issues that were affecting the question of consultation and the question of vetting. However, there is one issue that was raised that I think had some merit and I would like to seek a clarification from the Minister. The Minister has said that this redeployment has focused on senior members of the Provincial Administration who were at a certain Job Group but I did not get the Job Group. However, my clarification is this: This ... view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Is it in order for hon. Jakoyo to declare, because that is what I heard him say, that this will not work? What powers does he have for it not to work? We need to know why it will not work. Is it the Judiciary or the police? We need to know. view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I need him to clarify those threats. view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would like to add to what the Member for Lari has said because we are abusing our privileges in this House to issue threats and mention adversely people who cannot defend themselves in this House. Some of it amounts to hate speech. Why would we, in a list of 47 people, pick on only one woman? Do we not have other examples? At the end of the day--- view
