Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

There are two wives who have been under arrest throughout. There is the wife of Omar Awadh who works with IT. She was arrested in Tanzania in February while on official duty. Again, in March, she was arrested in South Africa. Ms Farida, the wife Al Amin Kimathi worked for the Post Office for 19 years. She had to resign to follow up on the issues and cases of her husband. • 12 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the hon. Member to mislead the House that the 30 per cent that NOCK is importing could have been imported by the multinational oil marketers, yet they have not been able under the OTS to import more than the 70 per cent and they circumvent the OTS system to use proxies to import the other 30 per cent? Is he in order to do so? view
  • 12 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to begin by thanking all the Members who have stood in support of this Motion. For us, our observations had been that the OTS has been acting as a cartel that has even blinded the Ministry of Energy not to appreciate the powers that the Energy Act gave it. We were glad that the Ministry of Energy has finally been able to exercise its powers to protect consumers. Secondly, I would like to congratulate the Ministry of Energy for its able and quality response that it gave to the allegations made by the ... view
  • 6 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Having listened to most of the contributors, including those who supported with a heavy heart, no one is opposing. So, may I move that the Mover be now called upon to reply. view
  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I wish to join my colleagues in supporting this Motion of Adjournment. I would like to speak on matters that have been in the limelight for the last few days. I wish to talk on the issue of tribalism. We speak a lot about tribalism when it is the majority that we are attacking. We have not been speaking about ideological minorities in the different tribes that we have. I would like to say that if Alnashir Visram was from any majority tribe, the issues that were being raised here would not have been ... view
  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would only have wished for him to have stood defending Alnashir Visram as he defended Omosa in this House. He would then have convinced me that Alnashir was Kisii enough for him to stand. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I really want to focus on the issues--- view
  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, all I was trying to say is that there is a problem with ethnic minorities and ideological minorities. As hon. Members, we need to move away from that. view
  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: You have been rising on a lot of points of order! view
