Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

  • 6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Minister for appreciating that this House is no longer operating on a "business-as-usual" attitude. I appreciate that the Minister is going to facilitate the presentation of that report. Just because the left hand and the right hand in his Ministry do not speak to each other, I would like him to go to his Ministry and find out whether the report dated 31st March, 2008, and signed by all Members of the Committee, has finally reached his Ministry. view

  • 5 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Question was on the Floor last week and it was deferred because the Minister provided an answer that was not satisfactory. We have information that the Report has already arrived in his Ministry and the technocrats there are asking members of the Committee to change the contents of the Report. Could the Minister confirm that the Report has already arrived in his Ministry? view
