Our Constitution has timelines within which we need to prosecute the Division of Revenue Bill so that it goes to the Senate. Once it goes to the Senate, they also need to go through it. We have no control as to how long the Senate will take. The courts have ruled that until the Division of Revenue Act has been assented, the Estimates cannot be introduced to the House. We still have an opportunity for Members to express themselves by the time we get the Financial Estimates. If we are not happy, we still can do that.
