  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: I do not need to belabor the issue. I would like to take minimum time to allow as many hon. Members as possible to contribute within the three hours that we have for this Motion. view

  • 2 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I did not want to interrupt this contribution, but is the Member in order to mislead this House and, indeed, the nation, that the privatization of the port is being done in any manner different from what has been laid down in the Privatization Act that was passed by this very House? I want the Member to appreciate the process rather than just take what has been said in the media. • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. While I did not want to interrupt the seeking for clarifications, is the hon. Member in order to introduce into the House and start quoting a report which the Speaker has not given a ruling on after an attempt was made to table it here by Dr. Khalwale? The Speaker undertook to give a ruling on the same in terms of its admissibility on the understanding that the Report has never been made officially public. view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, indeed, an attempt was made by hon. Dr. Khalwale to table that Report. The Speaker took it and said that it was strange in the House because of the fact that it had never been made public. He undertook to give a ruling on its admissibility. So, something that has already been doubted in terms of credibility cannot be a source of quoting in this House. This is an attempt to mislead the House and the people in terms of its contents. view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Given your wise ruling on that matter, would I be in order to ask the Chair to order that the utterances by Mr. C. Kilonzo on that matter be expunged? view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, could I be in order to ask that the contribution by Mr. C. Kilonzo on the matter of the Cockar Report he was quoting from be expunged from the records of this House? view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will communicate to the Minister and we expect to have a Statement by Thursday this week. view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will communicate the same and we can have a response by Tuesday next week. In the meantime, I would ask the hon. Member to get in touch with the Ministry, because of the other issues and give more information. We will have a detailed response by next week. view
  • 1 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, do I get your concurrence for Tuesday next week? view
