  • 26 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: I would have liked to say more, but I can see that the warning light is there for me. I support the Report. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 13 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute. Let me start by wishing my colleagues a happy new year, including you. view
  • 13 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: The Bill is very important. I must take this opportunity to say that I support it because I remember what I have been seeing in my country. Counterfeit products are imported. When we buy them, we take them home and suffer. Some of them last very few days and others become eye sores soon after. If we pass this Bill, we will have good imported products which can be of use to us. view
  • 13 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: The quality of some of the products we produce in Kenya is also wanting. Those who produce them do not think of the standards. They produce low quality products. We need to improve our standards. If we produce high quality products, we will get market all over the world. This will also increase employment opportunities in our country because our products will be on demand. I support the idea of good quality and quality production. It is very essential in our country. view
  • 13 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: I support the Bill strongly. If passed, the Bill will improve productivity in Kenya. Thank you so much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute. view
  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity. Let me state right away that I support the Bill. Probably, I am persuaded to support it right away because of the background I come from. There was a lady who was very powerful in my constituency; much more powerful than men. The men who tried to stand against her failed miserably. That tells me that even the ladies we are talking about in other constituencies, it would be different if it was Karachuonyo we are talking about. I would have told them straightaway that I cannot support the ... view
  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: If that is true, I can only say that we have weaker laws because they are allowing that. If it is not allowing that, then we are not implementing the law which forbids that kind of thing. If it is a question of economic ability that ladies do not have money, then we should have a limitation on what can be spent on elections. These days people give money direct, and yet we talk of corruption, I do not know what corruption is if this is not. We do not want to be disadvantaged because of… view
  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: I understand but I was saying this because ladies are complaining that the system is against them either because of their economic inability or because of violence. That probably is responsible for the small number we are getting in terms of women representation in Parliament. We also need to examine these things to know why we cannot achieve the number we are targeting. Otherwise, I support the Bill but women must also work hard to catch up on their own. We are not going to have this amendment lasting forever. view

  • 16 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. The land issue is very important. I support the Report. Much as I support it, like my colleague mentioned, land in most parts of our country is not registered. The disadvantages with not registering land are numerous, and you cannot count them all. In addition to this, we have seen something very disheartening. We have seen on television a beautiful building that is earmarked for demolition. Somebody can spend as much as what that building must have cost and then he is later told that the building must come down because it is on riparian land. ... view
