Annah Nyokabi Gathecha

When she was elected she gave out her first three months’ salary to charity. Annah Gatheca prides herself of starting the Kiambu Women Sacco that has attracted over 5000 members. She has laid plans to help women groups embark on dairy, poultry and vegetable farming with an eye for the international market.

I wish to support this amendment mainly because I am the one who sent the members from my county to go and speak before the Finance, Planning and Trade Committee. They were losing and their businesses had shut down. In the last two weeks, more than 5,000 chickens have been sold off. People have sold off their businesses simply because they cannot run them because of the high cost of animal feeds. I want to thank hon. Mbadi for bringing this VAT (Amendment) Bill. We need to look at our VAT properly and soberly ... view

This is a country where we are legislating and we are expected to protect the rights of every individual within this country. Therefore, if we agree that we are going to allow children to marry because they are Muslims, it is not fair or right and we must protect the rights of children. view
