  • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: Initially, we were kept aware, but after some time, it became top secret. It means there was never any intention to implement the project. The idea, all along, was to steal that money. When the biometric audit was done on the cohorts who were employed, it was found that there were so many ghost workers in those lists. This was a scheme, from the word go, to steal from the people of Kenya.   • 17 May 2017 in National Assembly: As we lambast those who were involved, this House must also take audit of itself. We have several Members of this august House whose relatives are involved. One Member had his father-in-law, wife and sister getting benefits from these fake projects. Many Members of Parliament are beneficiaries of this graft. So, as we talk of the Waigurus and the Kaburas out there, we must also audit ourselves. If any action is to be taken, let us be sincere.   • 11 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to support this Bill on the establishment of the Nairobi International Financial Centre. I do this for a couple of reasons. One being that Kenya has come of age economically. We are looking at a country that is almost entering an economic take-off. Before you get to economic take-off, there are certain preconditions that must be met. Amongst these is a vibrant financial sector. As we all know, for an economy to grow, you must have a vibrant economic sector. Industry investment will depend on how effective the financial sector is. People will need ... view
