  • 9 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: We have seen a more enhanced cash transfer programme for the elderly. The amount of stipends that are given to the elderly people is increasing. We have these very beautiful policies, but the implementation is more important. It beats the purpose of having these programmes, when these elderly people were staying for six months without their stipends. It is important that the elderly receive their cash on time. view
  • 9 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Before I finish, I welcome the provision of about Kshs 360 million for Lekiji settlement in Laikipia, to resettle the people in Lekiji. This should be replicated to cater for people in Liki, the former Kwambuzi and Majengo in Nanyuki. Regrettably, Laikipia is left out in the Equalisation Fund. • 30 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: land law. I do not know if it is right to kick them out overnight and replace them with advocates of the High Court. Those advocates may not have a lot of experience in land law. We may have to look into this afresh, especially when you say that this has to be done once the law comes into effect. That is not a good thing. We may provide for a transition where lawyers are incorporated. Do not discount the amount of knowledge that the current officers have. I have interacted with registrars of land and I can tell you ... view
