  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I am not opposed to this proposed amendment but I would like to get a clarification from the Chairman. As he interchanged the words, what was the earlier spirit? He has said that it is to comply with the international standards but what was the intention when he used the earlier words he is now substituting? I would like him to go further to the commission because it is likely to happen again with authority and commission. What was the original spirit? view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I agree with Hon. Birdi. In fact, it is for this reason I wanted to speak. The spirit of the earlier amendment under this Clause 193 is defeated by this further amendment. You heard what Hon. Millie proposed. I do not want to repeat it. But if you were on a life support machine in this House when there were those outages, you would have lost your life. So much has happened. • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to congratulate myself for being around to see this good Bill sail through. The passage of this Bill gives the energy sector new instruments. It gives the opportunity to tap the harmony that is created within the sector; the good law and the harmonized statute which will ensure that Kenyans are served and service is readily available. view

They have heard our complaints and seen the difficulties we go through. I trust that this law is going to help in ensuring that services in this sector are enhanced. view

  • 26 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to make brief comments, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First of all, I thank Members for supporting this important Bill which not only seeks to bring a framework within which those providing security services operate but also order within the industry. This Bill will go a long way to ensure that those within that industry enjoy the benefits of recognition and regulation. I am sure they are going to enhance their important role of providing security. I wish we rein on companies which do not pay security guards well or look after ... view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. The question raised over Nasewa land is one of the many cases that we have. It confirms our fears that resolutions passed in this House are not being implemented. There are various reports that have remained pending for unexplained reasons. There should be a way of putting in place measures that will ensure that resolutions passed in this House or any organ, are implemented to ensure that we put issues to rest and do not keep them pending. We should work in that direction. view
