  • 19 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: The people talking against food security and food insecurity that is causing hunger are the ones who want the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) not to investigate the matter. The ones talking here about issues regarding dams are the ones who should tell us why they are hanging around here while people are dying in Turkana, West Pokot and Kajiado counties. In the backyard of the Deputy President, we have a lot of maize but the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) is not buying it. Farmers demonstrated even in your constituency. Watch this space, if you do not debate ... view
  • 12 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute on the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.2) Bill of 2018. I would like to contribute first on the issue regarding the amendments to the Dairy Industry Act. In this amendment, they are seeking to insert the words “goat, camel whether in liquid, solid or any other format”. You recognise that the only Act that has been recognising goat and camel milk is the Health Act. The Dairy Industry Act has not been recognising this as packable product. This amendment will now allow goat and camel milk to be officially ... view
  • 21 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to also contribute to the Motion on the resolution to publish specified individual Members’ Bills. I beg to support this Motion because it will give new impetus to the House in terms of processing Private Members’ Bills. You recognise that we have three arms of government: the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary. All the activities that have been happening in Parliament here, the individuals who have been elected as Members of Parliament have not been doing their work effectively because of so many hurdles that are put in place through ... view

  • 21 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: This is a different Motion. Thank you for the opportunity. Let the noisemaker continue making noise as we do our work. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me to contribute on the Sports (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.25 of 2018). I have read this Bill entirely and I am satisfied with the contents. However, I only have one issue with it. view

  • 21 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: “(2) The Board of Trustee may place or deposit with such a bank or banks as it may determine any monies held in the account established under Section 29 that are immediately required for the purpose of administration of the Fund.” I read a sinister motive in this area, you remember very well there was a directive from the National Treasury that any surplus funds from any Government institution should be deposited at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). Why should the board of trustee have same powers in diverting Government money to private banks? view
