  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the issue of new variety is not new to this Ministry. At what stage is the Ministry in the process of getting the new variety that is going to double production? view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Under what circumstances were Messrs. Yusuf Godana, Hassan Sheikh Birik Mohamed and James Waweru killed in Lafey District on 27th October, 2011? (b) Could the Minister confirm that the officers met their death while on duty? (c) What assistance did the Government extend to the families of the deceased during their burial? view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we know very well that we are at war with the Al view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: and these officers met their death while on duty. The chartered aircraft was on its own mission of collecting examination papers. It transported the body from Mandera while on its route. Why did the Ministry find it appropriate to use an aircraft which was on its own mission of collecting examination papers as opposed to being sensitive and bringing the body directly to Merti? view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is the Assistant Minister in order to evade answering the question? The hon. Member asked very clearly: If that is the case, what time did the aircraft leave Mandera and at what time was it in Nanyuki? Could he answer this very straightforward question! view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Speaker, Sir. This is the sensitivity of this matter. As human beings, we do not seem to have urgently addressed that issue. These officers were killed by enemies of this country while on duty. Special attention ought to have been given. I thought the Ministry was quite insensitive because it happened more than 24 hours later. view
  • 17 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Member for Karachuonyo was very specific. He asked about the cheque - I cannot remember the exact figure - on pension which the retiree has not received. Can the Minister confirm whether the retiree has received it? If, yes, then he should give the cheque number and when he actually did receive it. view
  • 16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, given that this matter has attracted a lot of attention now and given that the Assistant Minister is also handling it through diplomatic channels, could he give an undertaking that he will brief this House as soon as this matter is concluded? view
  • 16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. When containers are shipped to Kenya, for example, there must be a consignee. Could the Assistant Minister tell us who the consignee for that container was? In other words, to whom was it addressed? view
  • 16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This is not a joint operation of the two Committees. This is a specific select committee which has accommodated the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. Therefore, the hon. Member is misleading the House. view
