  • 15 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Oh! Sorry, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. Thank you very much for the correction. The sanitation of that area towards the Members’ Lounge is bad. Sometimes you pass there and maybe you want to go and take tea and it is terrible. The moment I pass around that place, I do not take tea. I take off because of the foul stench that comes from around that area. Another issue is on parking. Sometimes you cannot get parking space around this place. That is why I support this Committee on matters of Members’ welfare. The other building should be completed very ... view
  • 1 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, there is no quorum because most of the Members are out of the Chamber. Can you protect me from this Sankok man? He wants to fight with me. view
  • 5 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request for a statement from the Chairperson, Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing regarding detrimental effects of road construction on residents of Mwoki Masana area in Vihiga County. The Chinese are currently constructing the Kisumu-Kakamega Road and they are acquiring building materials from Mwoki Masana area in Vihiga County. The said construction has had detrimental effects to the residents living in Mwoki Masana area and its neighbourhood ranging from water and air pollution resulting to respiratory infections, to accidents due to open caves left by the ... view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me a chance and the Mover, Hon. Michael Muchira, for giving me a minute. I support this Motion to absorb our NYS graduates into the disciplined forces. One, these graduates have basic paramilitary skills that can assist them as they join these disciplined forces. They are able to discharge their duties very well. The NYS, at least, instils discipline in people. Our youth are all over the country without jobs and training. Once this incentive is given, a person will know once he joins the NYS, he will be able to join ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I am in total support of the idea of taking those services to every constituency because most of our people are suffering. People travel from very far areas to seek for those services, especially during the time when Standard Eight pupils are being registered to sit for the national exams. Parents walk very long distances and queue for a long time to get a birth certificate. I have witnessed several times in Mbale Town, within my county, parents queuing up to very late in ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: If we can have an arrangement where once a new born child is issued with a number, the number serves as the number of his birth certificate, national identification card number as well as passport number it can save time and money. Even the Government will benefit a lot. It will assist the Government in planning because they will know the exact number of the population. The Government will capture the data of every person who is born in this country. It will also help stop the issue of people spending many hours on queues. It will also deal a ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for noticing me. Pole Hon. Maanzo your time is coming, ladies first. I support this Bill because just like my colleagues. Apart from the Coast region where the Kenya Coast Guard Service Bill is being talked about, we also have a similar case in Lake Victoria, the way other Members of Parliament have said, that is, the Migingo issue. The Migingo issue became very hot and we were wondering why our territories are being invaded by our neighbours. I got to a point where I wondered whether our fishermen would stop going to the ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: I wish to commend the Committee led by the Chair for the good work they have done. At least, we are very sure that our territories will be protected. Lake Turkana and Lake Baringo will be protected. The Coast has been a problem. Most of the drugs are being brought in through the sea and hidden in boats from other countries through the coastal region. The drugs are coming in and they get their way from coast to other areas at the far end of Kenya like Vihiga, Busia and Kakamega, which cause a lot of havoc to our youth. ... view
