Last year, the Government removed the requirements for annual licensing for banks and instead allowed the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to issue non-renewable perpetual licence. In the same spirit, and to ensure Kenyans enjoy their retirement benefits, the Bill proposes to extend similar perpetual licences to institutions licensed by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) through amendments to RBA Act so that you do not have to tell the fund managers that they have to renew their licences every year. In the Bill we passed recently, Probox importers were paying Kshs150,000, but in this Bill, they will pay less than Kshs100,000. It is wrong for him to mislead the country. We are making the Import Duty for the lower end vehicles far much cheaper than what we had proposed earlier. Hon. Wamalwa should stop misleading the country. He should pass the good news and not the bad news to the country. view
