  • 15 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: I thank my brother again for bringing this Bill. This is a very strong sign of supporting sugarcane farmers who he also represents. I support him on this. If there are amendments coming at the Committee of the whole House, we will make them so that farmers can benefit from this amendment Bill. view

  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. As long as the education sector is setting exams, those exams require ranking. We shall have students who answer correctly and others wrongly. We shall always rank. Whether we publicise ranking or not, there will always be ranking. The question here is: Why are we not publicising? By publicising ranking, we will be motivating those who have done best. I want to remind you that for four years running, my constituency of Mumias has been the best in KCPE. If I ask you now, you will not tell because you would not know. Nothing ... view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: We have been doing our best. For a constituency to have a mean score of 289, that is not a mean score. I want to encourage Hon. Chris to go ahead. We shall support this Bill until ranking is re- introduced. view

  • 26 May 2016 in National Assembly: who has been a very close friend of mine. You will remember that in the 10th Parliament, he was representing Malava while I was representing the entire Mumias Constituency. I remember Shitanda as a very articulate man, especially on sugar matters. We who are cooperating and working together with the Jubilee Government are really hit hard because Hon. Shitanda was our supporter number one. We were working together with him in marketing and popularising the Jubilee Coalition. I want to take this opportunity to warn politicians who like taking advantage of funerals to make statements that are not in favour ... view
  • 27 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to inquire about the Elevators Safety Authority Bill, 2015. I had made a proposal some time back to the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing which Hon. Wangwe was giving an appraisal on. I had been invited by the Committee last year but this is the fourth month and they have not invited me again. So, I do not know the fate of this Bill. I was requesting if he could update us on when I am going to appear before the Committee so that we can finalise this proposed Bill and ... view
