  • 16 May 2013 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Speaker, Sir. It is not a question--- view
  • 3 Jan 2013 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also want to add my voice to those Members who have supported this Bill. I want to support by saying that chiefs and assistant chiefs are the most demoralized civil servants from the date we enacted the new Constitution because it was supposed to do away with their positions. However, we are happy that the Government has come up with this Bill, so that they can relook into their activities and support what the chiefs were putting in place. I also want to add that the administration police who were answerable to the police, the ... view
  • 5 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister Agriculture:- (a) what the formula of determining sugar cane transportation charges for all sugar factories is; view
  • 5 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Assistant Minister for the answer. However, I am shocked that he can come up with this kind of an answer because when I was putting up this Question, I knew that under the Ministry of Agriculture, there is a cane pricing committee. This is a committee that looks at the ultimate benefit of a farmer. If the committee only does the preparation of the formula of the price of cane, then I do not think it is doing enough. It is after they have set the ... view
  • 5 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am satisfied, but I could just add that he also needs to ask the Kenya Sugar Board which regulates the sugar sector to be a bit more proactive because this is something that they should have regulated. view
  • 4 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister’s answer to part “c” of the Question is really worrying us because we have a serious block of voters in colleges and universities. For example, at the University of Nairobi (UoN), the programme ends on 23rd December and he is telling us that Kenyans cannot register from anywhere. That means that all university students, especially from the UoN cannot register as voters this year. Is he discriminating? Is this intentional? view
  • 28 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for the action he has taken. The only question left is: why did he have to wait until a Question is asked on this Floor for him to act? This candidate has lost an opportunity of being recruited into the police force because the exercise ended the other day. I wish the Ministry was active and did not wait until a Member of Parliament asked a Question on the Floor of this House. view
  • 28 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have no further questions. I am satisfied with the answer. Hopefully, I will get the results. view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Agriculture:- (a) whether he could table a list of buying prices of sugarcane per tonne by the respective sugar factories; (b) whether he is aware that the difference in buying prices is causing serious sugarcane “poaching” that could result in the closure of some factories; and, (c) what steps the Minister is taking to safeguard the survival of such factories. view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I think it is also in order for us as Parliament to stick to programmes. According to the weekly schedule, this Question had been slotted for tomorrow afternoon. I was also surprised this morning when I found that it had been put on the Order Paper this morning. I think it is unfair to the Minister and me. view
