  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Minister has told us that if one was to ask who owns what plot in that area, it reads like “who is who”. Through the Chair, could he clarify? If he is not ready with “who is who”, could he promise to table that information, so that Kenyans can know who are these public officers, especially Ministers and Assistant Ministers, who have been shortchanging the public in Syokimau? view
  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister. However, could he tell us what support they will extend to the families whose members perished in the accident? view
  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I had asked the Assistant Minister to tell us what humanitarian support they will extend to the families whose members perished but he has not responded. view
  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support that amendment. As I support the amendment, allow me to congratulate the Chair, Mr. Okemo and his colleagues for working tirelessly to ensure that this most important Commission is put in place. It is sad that doctors, teachers, matatu workers and everybody want to strike in order to get better remuneration. We hope that today, we are conclusively going to ensure that, that does not happen. That is why I say that this Parliament must be brave. It should not be held back and leave out only one name. We should ... view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I do not know whether you heard that one of the names mentioned was that one of Raila Odinga. Could the Member confirm that the Raila Odinga he is speaking about is the same one who is also the Prime Minister of Kenya? view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker! view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I am rising purely on a matter of procedure. It is the procedure and tradition of this House that when an hon. Member tables documents, the first thing that the Chair does is to satisfy itself. Mr. Waititu has tabled a map. He has referred to a plot within that map. He has tabled a search certificate and a certificate of land which he has purported to be the property of Raila Odinga. Surely, Kenyans want to know whether their own Prime Minister is involved in the culture of impunity and ... view
  • 13 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to thank you for that ruling and guidance. You heard the Minister for Lands, Mr. Orengo, clearly ask the Chair to determine whether those documents were referring to a property which was around or at Syokimau, Maasai Village or Kyang’ombe. Could the Chair ask the hon. Minister to discharge his ministerial responsibility by telling this House and the nation where that particular land that has tabled with its own title deed is situated in Nairobi instead of shifting that responsibility to the Chair? view
  • 8 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Mr. Orengo, has been quoted severally, both as a Minister for Lands and before he became a Minister, telling Kenyans that he is going to implement the Ndung’u Report on public land which was fraudulently acquired. Is he in order to ask hon. Members to give him a solution, when he already has the instrument which he can use to recover public land? view
  • 8 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, under Standing Order No.1, could the Chair consider appreciating that the hon. Member is serving one term only in one year and, therefore, be allowed to ask more questions? view
