  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am raising this point of order as a matter of life and death, because the same report that the hon. Member has quoted from has indicated that one Newton Osiemo is missing. Could the Assistant Minister, when he comes back with the Ministerial Statement, assure the country and the family that, indeed, Mr. Newton Osiemo is alive and well? view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Minister to reassure Kenyans, especially the farmers that, since in the recent past, farmers have witnessed serious reshuffling where Ministers were suspended and were returned; people were sent on forced leave while others have been interdicted, that the restructuring is not going to leave them behind after being taken for a ride yet again by this Government that is used to coning the public? view
  • 25 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I stand here to support the Motion. I am doing this because I remember that yesterday, I voted with the side that wished to give political parties in this House an opportunity to amend the list. We gave political parties that opportunity in good faith. I wish to say that it is wrong for any leader of a political party to use opportunities that hon. Members are exposed to in this House as a way of either rewarding or punishing them. It is my submission that the removal of the names of Messrs. Chachu and Monda from ... view
  • 25 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: Hon. William Ruto, I beg you. However much you are in disagreement with the Prime Minister, think about the benefits this House brings to Kenyans when we move. Go and sort out your problems with the Prime Minister. Do not allow members of New Fork- K or the PNU to help you. You are strong enough. You have a strong political party. Convene a National Delegates Conference which will decide who between you is bigger than the other. Allow us to transact the business of this House. view
  • 25 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am worried that if we continue on this note, the Constitutional Review Process that we are looking forward to will start being threatened. Those of us who like being theoretical had thought that the threats to the new Constitution would not include political party feuds within parties. We thought there would be political feuds across political parties. Mr. Speaker, Sir, honestly, because the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has more Members than any other party in this House, they owe it to all of us to be humble. Let us join hands across our political parties, regions ... view
  • 24 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we are aware that today is a day that is reserved for Members of the Back-Bench. However, because this is a Procedural Motion and we are going to sort it out in the coming four days, we have no objection. We shall support it. view
  • 24 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you. view

  • 10 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, suspicions are high that it is the Administration Police Armoury that was raided in this particular incident. Could the Assistant Minister today table before this House the accountability records which in military parlance is called “the Arms Movement Register” which will show the issuance and receipt of arms within the Administration Police? This will enable us to know who issued those arms, who received them and for what purpose they were being used. The House should know that the armoury is controlled by two keys. One of the keys is held by the College Commandant by the ... view
