  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: (Saboti, ODM) asked the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection: (a) whether he could explain the status of implementation and operationalisation of the Social Assistance Act (2013); and, (b) the achievements that have been realised by the National Social Assistance Authority since its establishment. Thank you. view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion. In fact, Hon. Osotsi the mover might have had a glimpse of my campaign manifesto because establishing sports academies is among my four agendas for the people of Saboti. view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: In line with this allow me to congratulate the team from Senegal in Africa for performing outstandingly well against Poland. You realise that one of the reasons why the European nations do so well in the World Cup is because they have sports academies. They nurture talents from a very tender age, this helps people to realise their talents very early. You can see this from the results at the World Cup. I believe we should establish sports academies in all our constituencies. The pilot one should start in my constituency because it is cosmopolitan and we have all sorts ... view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: So, as one of the young people in this country, I really urge Members to support and pass this Motion. We also urge the Government or the Committee on Implementation to quickly make sure that they follow up so that it is operationalised and our very many idle young people in this country will get somewhere to start exercising their talents. I really support this Motion dearly as a Member of Parliament who has really supported youth activities in my constituency, especially in promoting sports. I urge my colleagues to support this to help our young people develop their talents. ... view
  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I do not know if it is the right time to send messages of condolence because we are not sure whether they are alive or dead. Is it an official record? view
  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: In that regard, I will also join my colleague in sending my message of condolence to the families. What is peculiar is that, as a country, we have failed to rescue our fellow countrymen. I want to take you back to a similar air crash that happened with the members of the rugby team for Uruguay in 1972. The air crash happened somewhere in Argentina in the Andes Mountain. The survivors were rescued two months later. Sixteen out of the crew were saved and survived the air crash. My point is that taking 24 hours to locate where the plane ... view
  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The point is we need to work on our rescue mission as a country. It is sad. Some of us used that plane on almost a weekly basis. We could as well have been victims. Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to second the Motion on the Ratification of the AFCFTA. This has come at the most opportune time when the world is slowly becoming global. Globalisation comes with competition in terms of international trade. This Agreement is key to our nation when we are talking of the Agenda Four as a country. We cannot be taking of Agenda Four if we are not very keen on our position in the international market. The African continent as a whole has a population of 1.2 billion. In terms of population, Africa is second to Asia ... view
  • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: I second. view
  • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support this Motion by Hon. Keter. It is timely. Mother Nature has once again unleashed wraths to our nation, and this time it is very devastating. It is not just the usual victims of such calamities. We have had constituencies like mine, Saboti Constituency, where a bridge that was under construction collapsed and we had serious effects and even one person died. Somebody may wonder why we are talking about disaster management when we have metrological department, a full-fledged parastatal which is under operation using States resources and taxpayers’ money. ... view
