  • 30 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide a detailed report on the cases of teenage pregnancies reported across the country since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic period that led to closure of schools and other learning institutions? (ii) What urgent steps is the Ministry taking to ensure protection and safety of all children in the country? • 30 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to add my voice to this very important debate. The Mediation Committee did a very good job and, therefore, we support it 100 per cent. Indeed, the spirit of the Constitution is to devolve money to the grassroots, and not to devolve corruption in the way we are seeing. The spirit was to devolve money so that we can have those access roads deep in the villages. I support this Bill. The only reservation I have is the devolution of social services. Our people, people with disabilities are suffering ... view
  • 30 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: I will maintain relevance. I will be in the Bill and that is why I am supporting it. Because of the unity you have inscribed as the Temporary Deputy Speaker of the House, we have said we should extend an olive branch to even ODM. Come so that we can unite. Come so that we can work together. All of you can sign the post-election or pre-election agreement so that we can work together. We have already accepted the Kenya African National Union (KANU). We are willing to accept the ANC. I already have two bosses. That is the Jubilee ... view

  • 30 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Yes, party loyalty! There should be no insubordination. Let the Head of State remain that. view
  • 30 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Deviating from the Head of State is treason. It is punishable by law. Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Bill 100 per cent. view
  • 6 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to add my voice to that of the MP for Runyenjes Constituency, Hon. Eric Muchangi. This matter has brought a lot of problems and conflicts on the ground amongst the farmers and the directors of the factories. As the Committee looks into this matter, it will be important to understand at what point KTDA decided the rates at which the farmers would be paid. Normally, the people who determine the rates for the farmers’ pay is actually the directors of the factories. Here we are seeing a KTDA that has become bigger than the farmers ... view
  • 4 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Let me take this opportunity to thank the President for having given me a chance to serve in this House as the Deputy Whip of the Majority Party. I also thank the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Duale, for having given me a chance to serve very well with him. I learnt so much from him. I am glad he continues to be the Leader of the Majority Party because he is able and has what it takes. I will stand firm and will work for the Government because that is the most important thing. ... view
