• 22 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have not only commissioned the project but we are generating 60 megawatts which the project was intended to achieve. So, the issue of Mau affecting the project does not arise. The next phase of the project is Magwagwa Dam. After its completion, we will expand the project to generate more power. view
• 22 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to inform the hon. Member that we made the request and we are waiting. The project will be launched anytime soon. Eng. Rege and I were there and we witnessed what is happening in Sondu Miriu. As I have said, currently we are generating 60 megawatts out of the project. The only part which is remaining is ceremonial, which is the official handing over of the plant to the Kenyan Government by the Japanese Government. I want to assure the House that, that will be done as soon as possible. view

Member has said that projects have been hanging for five years, and yet he was a Minister in the Government at that time. So, to say that his constituency has been left out is not true.
