  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am not satisfied because we do have information which, if the Minister is willing, we can bring to his attention. That is why I asked him whether he is aware that the reason why there has not been any progress is because his people have not been co-operating. view
  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, all these gentlemen disappeared when they were on duty. Their families have been up and down trying to trace them. They were the sole breadwinners for their families. Their parents are very old and these officers left some dependants behind. Could the Minister consider, on compassionate grounds, when the next recruitment for the army comes, their sons for recruitment into the armed forces? They have left behind their offspring who are strong enough, and have all the qualities required for soldiers. view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I think the issue of tarmacking roads in the larger Kitui District is not just restricted to these two new districts. We also have the new district which does not have a single kilometer of tarmac. Can the Minister confirm that over the years, there has not been discrimination in tarmacking roads, particularly for the larger Kitui District? view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: (a) whether he is aware that Masimba and Syomunyu sub-locations have not had assistant chiefs for over eight years ; and, (b) what he is doing to ensure the positions are filled without delay. view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for your observation of the way the Assistant Minister was going round and round this issue, even though I have a lot of respect for him. He has confirmed that in both sub-locations, adverse reports were received at the head office. How come that the adverse reports were not detected at the grassroots level where the chief and the DC are supposed to vet those people? view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the information of the Assistant Minister, the issues surrounding the recruitments in those two sub-locations have been sabotaged by – and this is common knowledge – the local Chief, one Anderson Nganga, who has been anti-development in the location. Could the Assistant Minister confirm or deny whether he has that information and what he will do for the sake of development in those locations? view
  • 24 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, although I have not received a copy of the written answer, I beg to ask the Question. view
  • 24 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a) whether he is aware that Masimba and Syomunyu Sub-locations have not had Assistant Chiefs for over 8 years; and, (b) what he is doing to ensure that the positions are filled without delay. view
  • 24 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister, at least, has had the courtesy to talk to me about this Question. He has explained to me what he calls “unsatisfactory answer” and I am in agreement with him. It is okay. He can answer the Question next week without delay. view
