Kiswahili. You do not need to have a diploma or a certificate. Leadership should not be equated to academic qualifications. There is no need to disturb Members of County Assemblies to go back to school to acquire degrees and diplomas. It does not make sense. When you are leading, you need ‘Solomonic’ wisdom. Finally, Speakers need to be proficient in both English and Kiswahili. I agree with my colleagues that we need people with integrity and competence in what happens in Parliament outside the academic qualifications. Let us not equate good leadership with academics. Madam Temporary Speaker, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to support this Petition. From the onset, it looks like some the Members of this House have not read the Kenya Kwanza Manifesto. One of the cornerstones of President William Ruto’s administration is affordable housing. For the benefit and information of the House, the President just launched the handing over of Buxton Phase One in Mombasa a few moments ago. Madam Temporary Speaker, I agree that the people who are petitioners should be given priority in an occasion of Buxton Estate. The aim of affordable housing is to ...
