• 20 Jul 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity. On Petition No.1, I remember early or late last year, I brought a Petition on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) for workers. I am happy the Ministry of Health and Public Service Commission (PSC) renewed the UHC contract for an extension of one to three years. I believe it behooves all of us that working for PSC, there should be certainty. Therefore, I appeal that there is another crop called the Community Health Equity and Promotion (CHEP) workers who were at the ports, especially during the Covid-19 lockdown. • 20 Jul 2023 in Senate: One thing we should note as a Senate is that this is a devolved function. We need the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare to take the lead. When that council was being inaugurated, I expected the Chair or a number of Members including yourself or representatives from the leadership of the House, to be in that meeting. I agree that the biggest elephant in the room is the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
