  • 22 Sep 2020 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, with all due respect to my sister, the Deputy Majority Whip, is she in order to say that the position I took as the then Chairperson of the Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights is my own and not that of the Committee? I only communicated the decision of the Committee before the House considering the provision of the Senate Standing Orders that the Chairperson of a Committee will be the spokesperson. Sen. Farhiya should not hang me considering that Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. was also a Member of that Committee. I wish Sen. Farhiya ... view

The advisory given to the President under Article 261 (5), (6), (7) and (8) is a threat to democracy and the social fabric of this country. Therefore, I think it is misadvised and we are ready for elections anytime. I can assure you that if elections are done today, I am ... view

  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: It depends on how one uses that application. Generally, the internet should be used to promote our values and principles within our society. The Government of Kenya has allowed every Tom, Dick, and Harry to erode our values and principles because of the internet. Our children are at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic. TikTok,Facebook and Twitter among other social media sites are places where many young people are influenced either negatively or positively. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: is good because I know many young people who have used it to promote their music and other talents. Of course, that is not a guarantee for entry into mainstream media. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: Secondly, Sen. (Dr.) Mwaura has alluded to the issue of Cambridge Analytica, where they used it to know ones preference. We heard that it was used for interference during the 2016 Elections in the USA. Facebook CEO was summoned by the US Senate. They wanted to understand how Cambridge Analytica used Facebook to collect information on preferences of candidates. This matter must be dealt with. view
