  • 28 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: here. Already, we can see things have changed. That means that the “Obama seed” is doing good work. From the moving of this Motion today, the way Hon. Duale presented himself, we are very grateful. It seems that Kenyans are putting into action what President Obama said. One of the critical things that he said is that politics that are based on ethnicity and tribal lines are doomed to fail. It is the highest time that the leadership of this country must look at Kenya in terms of inclusivity. We are not going to practice tribalism because it is likely ... view
  • 28 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: look for ways of witch-hunting or settling scores. I am very disappointed. They went to the CDF Office, Kiminini Constituency, and started harassing the officials there. In line with the CDF Act, we do things in the right way. If that is what they are going to do, we do not know whether they want to gag this House. As Members of Parliament, we are supposed to speak freely without any intimidation. We are getting disappointed by this issue of witch-hunting. It is the highest time that Members of Parliament rose and said no to intimidation by the Ethics and ... view

  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. With these televised debates which I have been watching keenly, the Hon. Member on the Floor is not Hon. Ochanda. However, what is being shown on Television is that he is Hon. Ochanda, the Member of Parliament for Bondo. Hon. Deputy Speaker, can you confirm because I do not think he is Hon. Ochanda. Something is wrong somewhere. view

  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this amendment. It is a small and straightforward amendment but it has far reaching implications. The 29 officers who have not been vetted must have gone through a lot of stress and anxiety. They have also lost opportunities. How are they going to be compensated? If someone is to work optimally in any work environment, there must be a conducive working environment. So, you can imagine the stress those officers go through. Maybe some of the judgements they made had mistakes. So, the opportunity cost had far reaching implications. Coming back ... view
  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: must have looked at some issues and realised that this was a realistic timeframe. It raises another question why there was that delay. view
  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Do you want to inform me, Hon. Kaluma? Hon. Deputy Speaker, he can inform me. view
  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Kaluma wants to inform me. view
  • 9 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you for that information but I want to say that they do not need to desire but they need to work as per what is laid down. I do not want to talk too much on this. We support this Bill and we want to move it with speed to expedite the whole process so that those officers who have issues of lost opportunities can catch up. We request them to do it professionally without any fear or favour, and as Parliament, we are there to support them. I am just trying to imagine some of the delayed cases. ... view
