  • 1 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: The concern has been devolving the health function in terms of preparedness. This matter came up with the Transitional Authority that, if some counties are not ready, some functions need not be devolved immediately. That is because we have a grace period of three years. Hon. Speaker Sir, could the Leader of Majority Party give a clarification on that? The Cabinet Secretary had brought the issue of the Health Bill. Thank you. view
  • 31 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, thank you. Based on the Message that you have read to the House on the Members of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), could you clarify the ratio between the Senate and the National Assembly and how it was arrived at? view

  • 30 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Leader of Majority Party regarding the threatened strike by the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPPDU) over devolution and uncertainty in the health sector. The KMPPDU is planning to paralyse operations in all public health facilities in the country unless their grievances are addressed. view

  • 30 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, in your earlier ruling you told us that matters of urgency should be addressed to the Leader of Majority Party. This is a cross- cutting issue. We have the Departmental Committee on Health and the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare. We also have the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. I think the Leader of Majority Party will be in a better position to lead from the front and give us a comprehensive answer, as he has always been doing. view

  • 30 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, they are threatening to come to Nairobi from Friday, this week. I ask that if it is possible the Leader of Majority Party gives the Statement before the threat date of this week. If he brings the Statement tomorrow, on Wednesday or Thursday we will appreciate. view
