Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to request a Statement on the Public Finance Management (Tourism Promotion Fund) Regulations, 2019. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning regarding the Public Finance Management (Tourism Promotion Fund) Regulations, 2019. The Tourism Promotion Fund was established under Section 24(4) of the Public Finance Management Act of 2012, through the Finance Act of 2016. The Public Finance Management (Tourism Promotion Fund) Regulations, 2019 provides for the establishment and composition of the board. It shall consist of the Cabinet Secretary (CS) responsible for tourism who is the chairperson of the board or, in his or her absence, the Principal Secretary (PS) responsible for matters relating to tourism and six Principal Secretaries, and two persons of opposite gender appointed by the CS responsible for matters relating to tourism, in accordance with Article 27 of the Constitution.
