  • 26 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I do not see where the conflict is. This amendment does not close the door. There is nowhere where it says that the Commission may not get staff from the public service. What we are saying here is that, that should be the decision of the Commission. But here, we are forcing them to get--- Let the Commission be an independent Commission. Let it have independent staff and let it decide whether they require officers from the public service or not. I think that is what an independent commission is supposed to be. view
