  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: As you have said, I have got three minutes left. I was at data protection. Now, I will proceed to duplication of information. Mr. Speaker, Sir, this Bill will help us in identifying duplicated processes. Let us say, for example, in a place like Marsabit and Upper North Eastern, people do not know how to read and write. Therefore, if that data is kept in a system, you can even come after a year and definitely find that your data has been kept well. The other issue I want to raise is that currently the digital system is helping us ... view

  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, once again. Question No. 26 is- (a) What has occasioned the delay in the recruitment of the National Police Reservists (NPRs) in Marsabit County and the wider Northern frontier counties? (b) Could the Cabinet Secretary indicate the plans in place to ensure prompt recruitment and deployment of NPRs and also state the projected timelines for the same? view
  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I will ask one question now and another one later on. Hon. Cabinet Secretary, what measures have you put in place to forensically identify ballistic bullets that are being tested when it comes to civilian firearms? As you are aware, Firearms Licencing Board (FLB) are checking each gun that belongs to a civilian. They know by identifying what gun has released a bullet. What measures are you going to put in place so that guns for NPRs are also registered under the FLB? I think you understand what I am asking. view
  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. Allow me to agree with the honourable Cabinet Secretary on the National Police Reservists (NPRs) issue. They are doing a very good job. They also supplement heavily and greatly in helping police officers in the Northern and Upper Eastern part of Kenya. However, I wanted to know from the honourable Cabinet Secretary the measures they have put in place to support the NPRs in insuring them on personal insurance and also giving them small tokens as salary, from Kshs15,000 to 20,000. I want to know if they have such kind of initiatives and how ... view
